SEE ALSO...

Tom70 Antibody (A-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Tom70 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Tom70 (A-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Tom70 protein plays a crucial role in mitochondrial protein translocation, acting as a receptor that recognizes preproteins destined for mitochondria. This process ensures proteins necessary for mitochondrial function, such as those involved in energy production and apoptosis, are properly imported into the organelle. Tom70 protein is part of the mitochondrial protein translocase complex, which includes several integral membrane proteins that facilitate preprotein transport across mitochondrial membranes. The human Tom70 gene is located on chromosome 3q12.2, highlighting its significance in human health and disease. With proven detection of Tom70 across multiple species and applications, anti-Tom70 antibody (A-8) serves as an essential tool for researchers studying mitochondrial dynamics and function.

How much sample do you recommend loading on the gel for Western blot detection using Tom70 (A-8): sc-390545?

Asked by: TinTin
We recommend loading 40–60 µg whole cell lysate, 10–20 µg nuclear extract, 5-10 µg transfected lysate, or 10–20 ng purified protein per lane. A link to our complete Western blotting protocol is provided here for your reference: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/western-immuno-blotting

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Work well for immunofluorescence in mouse oocytesThe Tom70 antibody produced nice staining of mitochondria in mouse MI oocytes. The oocytes were fixed with 4% paraformaldehyde in PIPES buffer with 100mM KCl, pH 7.2, permeabilized with 0.5% Triton X100, blocked with 2%BSA in PBS and incubated with the primary antibody 1:50 overnight. As a secondary antibody, we used donkey anti-mouse Alexa 488 antibody diluted 1:300.
