    SEE ALSO...

Tom6 Antibody (E-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Tom6 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Tom6 (E-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Tom6, also known as translocase of outer mitochondrial membrane 6 homolog (yeast) or OBTP, is a crucial component of the mitochondrial preprotein translocase complex located in the outer mitochondrial membrane. This 74 amino acid protein plays a vital role in the import of nuclear-encoded precursor proteins into mitochondria, which is essential for mitochondrial function and energy production. Tom6 helps maintain mitochondrial integrity and supports cellular metabolism by facilitating the translocation of proteins necessary for mitochondrial biogenesis and function. Tom6 is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 6p25.3 and mouse chromosome 17 C, highlighting its evolutionary conservation and importance across species.
