SEE ALSO...

Tom40 Antibody (D-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Tom40 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Tom40 (D-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Tom40 plays a crucial role in mitochondrial function as a key component of the translocase of the outer mitochondrial membrane (TOM) complex, which is essential for importing nucleus-encoded precursor proteins into mitochondria. Tom40 forms a general import pore in the outer mitochondrial membrane that allows translocation of various preproteins. Tom40 ensures necessary proteins are imported into mitochondria for critical processes like oxidative phosphorylation and metabolic regulation, making Tom40 vital for mitochondrial biogenesis and energy production. Tom40 interacts with other proteins in the TOM complex, including Tom20 and Tom22, which recognize and bind precursor proteins to facilitate transport into mitochondria. Efficient incorporation of Tom40 into the TOM complex maintains mitochondrial integrity and function, highlighting Tom40′s importance in cellular energy metabolism and overall cellular health.

since this Abs is available in agrose form for coIP experiment. Then I guess this antibody (non-conjugated) is OK to use for coIP together with protein G beads, right?

Asked by: Zach
The primary antibody (both unconjugated and agarose-conjugated forms) is recommended and warrantied for immunoprecipitation (IP), however we are still gathering data to show on our website. Check back for updates!

What is the recommended fixation method for immunofluorescence staining with Tom40 (D-2): sc-365467 monoclonal antibody?

Asked by: jerojero
Thank you for your inquiry. We recommend fixing cells for 5 minutes in -10°C methanol and allowing to air dry. The full protocol can be viewed here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
