SEE ALSO...

Tom1 Antibody (H-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Tom1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Tom1 (H-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Tom1 protein, also known as Target of Myb 1, is a 492 amino acid cytoplasmic protein that plays a crucial role in intracellular trafficking, particularly in moving ubiquitinated proteins to early endosomes for degradation. This process maintains cellular homeostasis and regulates protein turnover, impacting various cellular functions and signaling pathways. Tom1 features one GAT domain and one VHS domain, which enable interactions with other proteins, such as Tollip and endofin (SARA). These interactions help recruit Tom1 to the endosome, enabling participation in endosomal trafficking of ubiquitin-tagged proteins. Human Tom1 shows 76% similarity with chicken Tom1 and 89% similarity with mouse Tom1, indicating a conserved function across species that highlights its importance in cellular processes.
