TMEFF2 Antibody (E-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects TMEFF2 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TMEFF2 (E-12) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TMEFF2, also known as hyperplastic polyposis protein 1 (HPP1) or tomoregulin (TR), is a single-pass type 1 membrane protein that contains one epidermal growth factor (EGF)-like domain and two follistatin-like domains. TMEFF2 plays a crucial role in neuronal survival, particularly for mesencephalic and hippocampal neurons, highlighting its importance in neuroprotection and potential implications in neurodegenerative diseases. TMEFF2 is predominantly expressed in the brain, prostate, and spinal cord, with additional presence in the colon and stromal cells of normal colonic mucosa. TMEFF2 is highly glycosylated, and expression is often down-regulated in tumor cell lines due to methylation events in its 5′ region, which may impact function in tumorigenesis.
