TMED2 Antibody (C-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects TMED2 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TMED2, also known as transmembrane emp24 domain trafficking protein 2, is a 201 amino acid protein belonging to the EMP24/GP25L family, characterized by its single-pass type I membrane structure and a GOLD domain. The GOLD domain, which spans approximately 90 to 150 amino acids, is crucial for mediating protein-protein interactions and plays a significant role in the dynamics of the Golgi apparatus. This domain facilitates interactions with lipids, sterols, and fatty acids, as well as with RUN domains that connect to cytoskeletal filaments of membrane proteins. TMED2 inhibits the GTPase-activating activity of ARFGAP1, thereby contributing to the budding process of coatomer-coated and other types of vesicles. Additionally, TMED2 forms a complex with SURF-4 and TMP21, enabling cargo molecule binding and facilitating collection into budding vesicles, which is essential for intracellular transport and proper cellular function. Anti-TMED2 antibody (C-8) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying vesicular transport and protein trafficking in various biological contexts.
