SEE ALSO...

TLR2 Antibody (A-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects TLR2 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TLR2 (A-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TLR2 plays a crucial role in the immune system by recognizing pathogen-associated molecular patterns, which is essential for initiating inflammatory responses. TLR2 is primarily located on the cell surface of immune cells such as macrophages and dendritic cells, where TLR2 acts as a pattern recognition receptor. TLR2 presence on these cells is vital for detecting a wide range of microbial components, including peptidoglycan from Gram-positive bacteria and lipoproteins, thereby facilitating innate immunity activation. Upon ligand binding, TLR2 dimerizes with TLR1 or TLR6, leading to adaptor protein recruitment and activation of downstream signaling pathways, including the NF-kB pathway, ultimately resulting in pro-inflammatory cytokine production. TLR2 expression is particularly high in peripheral blood leukocytes, highlighting TLR2′s importance in immune response to infections.
