    SEE ALSO...

TLF Antibody (C-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects TLF protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-TLF antibody (C-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TLF protein, also known as TBP-related factor 2 (TRF2), plays a crucial role in gene regulation by acting as a gene-specific factor for RNA polymerase II-mediated transcription. Unlike TATA box-binding protein (TBP), which is a universal binding factor for various RNA polymerase complexes, TLF selectively interacts with specific promoters, thereby influencing the expression of genes such as neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) gene. TLF′s ability to preferentially bind to and form stable complexes with TFIIA is particularly important, as TFIIA enhances TBP/TFIID binding to DNA and mitigates repression by negative cofactors, thus facilitating effective transcriptional activation. Unique structural features of TLF, which are related to those of TBP and Drosophila TBP-related factor TRF1, underscore TLF′s specialized function in transcriptional machinery, making TLF (C-8) antibody an essential tool for researchers studying gene expression and regulation in various biological contexts.

Can TLF (C-8): sc-514059 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

    Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your question. Yes, TLF (C-8): sc-514059 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
