SEE ALSO...

Titin Antibody (E-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 kappa light chain antibody that detects Titin protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Titin antibody (E-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Titin, also known as connectin, is a colossal protein that plays a crucial role in the assembly and maintenance of sarcomeres, the fundamental contractile units of striated muscle. Titin′s unique structure, comprising approximately 27,000 amino acids, allows Titin to span half the length of a sarcomere, providing elasticity and structural support during muscle contraction. This structural integrity is vital for muscle function, as Titin helps prevent damage during the mechanical stress of contraction and relaxation cycles. Additionally, Titin contains an autoregulated serine kinase domain and a calcium/calmodulin binding region, which are essential for activation and regulation. Titin′s phosphorylation of telethonin, a sarcomeric protein, further highlights Titin′s importance in the reorganization of the cytoskeleton during myofibrillogenesis, linking Titin′s activity to both muscle development and cellular integrity.
