TIF1α Antibody (C-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects TIF1 alpha protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-TIF1α antibody (C-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TIF1α plays a crucial role in mediating transcriptional regulation by interacting with the activation function 2 (AF2) region of several nuclear receptors, such as estrogen, retinoic acid, and vitamin D3 receptors, which are essential for various physiological processes including development, metabolism, and cellular differentiation. TIF1α is localized to nuclear bodies and associates with chromatin and heterochromatin-associated factors, highlighting its importance in gene expression regulation. As a member of the tripartite motif (TRIM) family, TIF1α contains three zinc-binding domains (RING, B-box type 1, and B-box type 2) along with a coiled-coil region, which are critical for structural integrity and functional interactions. TIF1α gene, located on human chromosome 7q34, encodes two alternatively spliced transcripts, although the full-length nature of one variant remains undetermined. A homolog of TIF1α, known as bonus, has been identified in Drosophila and is associated with genes implicated in the ecdysone pathway, a nuclear hormone receptor pathway vital for Drosophila development, suggesting a conserved functional role throughout evolution.

What secondary is best to use with TIF1α (C-4): sc-271266 monoclonal antibody?

Asked by: Anna99
Thank you for your question. While most anti-mouse IgG secondary antibodies are appropriate for use with sc-271266, we recommend using one our exclusive Mouse IgG Binding Proteins as a secondary detection reagent. A complete list of available binding proteins is available on our website here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/browse/support-products-mouse-igg-binding-proteins/_/N-ecrety
