SEE ALSO...

Tiam1 Antibody (E-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Tiam1 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Tiam1 (E-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Tiam1 plays a crucial role in cellular signaling pathways, particularly in regulating the Rho family of GTPases, which are essential for cytoskeletal dynamics and cell motility. This function is vital for processes such as cell migration, invasion, and metastasis, making Tiam1 a significant player in cancer biology. Tiam1 contains both Dbl and Pleckstrin-homologous domains, which are characteristic of guanine nucleotide exchange factors that activate Rho-like proteins. In fibroblasts, Tiam1 can induce a phenotype similar to constitutively activated Rac1, leading to membrane ruffling, a process inhibited by dominant negative Rac1. T lymphoma cells expressing activated Rac1 exhibit increased invasiveness, highlighting the importance of Tiam1-Rac signaling in tumor cell invasion and metastasis.

Can Tiam1 (E-7): sc-393315 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, Tiam1 (E-7): sc-393315 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tiam1 antibody (E-7) validated by siRNA knock downTiam1 was downregulated by siRNA in mouse primary microglia in order to validate the Tiam1 (E-7) sc-393315 antibody by Western Blot. In cells transfected with Tiam1 siRNA, the antigen band was hardly visible compared to control cells (scrambled siRNA transfected cells and untransfected cells). This result demonstrates the specificity of this antibody and makes it to a valuable research tool.
