TH Antibody (A-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects tyrosine hydroxylase (TH) in mouse, rat, and human samples through western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TH is a critical enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of tyrosine to L-dopa, representing the rate-limiting step in the biosynthesis of catecholamines, including dopamine, adrenaline, and noradrenaline. TH (A-6) antibody is essential for studying normal levels of these neurotransmitters, which are vital for various physiological processes, including mood regulation, stress response, and motor control. Dysregulation of TH activity has been implicated in the pathogenesis of neurological disorders, particularly Parkinson′s disease, where reduced dopamine levels lead to significant motor and cognitive impairments. Additionally, TH gene regulation involves transcription factor binding sites such as the TPA-responsive element (TRE) and the c-AMP responsive element (CRE), which respond to various signaling pathways. Anti-TH antibody (A-6) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying the intricate mechanisms of catecholamine biosynthesis and its implications in health and disease.

Why do you show representative bands at 90 K for this antibody when the molecular weight of tyrosine hydroxylase is 60 K? Is there something special about this antibody for the bands to be at 90 K?

Asked by: Bob37
Thank you for your question. There appears to be a labeling error with this piece of data. We will look into this and update the product information appropriately.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-374048 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
