SEE ALSO...

TGIF Antibody (H-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects TGIF protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TGIF (H-1) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TGIF protein, also known as TGFB Induced Factor Homeobox 1, plays a crucial role in regulating gene expression by acting as a transcriptional repressor. TGIF is primarily located in the nucleus, where TGIF interacts with other proteins, such as Smad2 and Smad4, to modulate TGFβ signaling pathways. This nuclear localization allows TGIF to directly influence transcriptional activity of genes involved in critical cellular processes, including development, differentiation, and response to extracellular signals. Through binding to the Smad2-Smad4 complex, TGIF can either repress or promote transcription depending on the cellular context, highlighting TGIF′s importance in maintaining cellular homeostasis and regulating responses to growth factors. TGIF′s ability to modulate these pathways underscores TGIF′s potential as a target for therapeutic interventions in diseases where TGFβ signaling is dysregulated.

I am using TGIF (H-1): sc-17800 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: cjMara
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
