Hello, does this antibody (3C11) recognize active monomeric or dimeric TGFbeta, which is secreted from human cells into the medium (conditioned medium)?

Couldn't find the relevant materials - does this antibody distinguish between TGF-b1, 2 ,and 3?

Does this identify both active and inactive form of TGF-beta1? What is the band at around 17kDa shown in your sample picture? Thank you
Thank you for your question. TGFβ1 Antibody (3C11): sc-130348 is recommended for detection of TGFβ1 of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IF and IHC(P). The expected molecular weight of the monomeric TGF β1 is 13 kDa, or 25 kDa for the dimer.
The 17 kDa signal shown on the product page is the antibody detecting the recombinant TGF β1 against which the antibody has been raised. The recombinant protein consists of a partial peptide of TGF β1 and a tag.

good antibody
We tested a free sample on WB from mouse adult heart (40 micrograms). Ab was diluted 1:500. We got the specific band of about 25kda, good signal!

Did not recognize recombinant human TGFb1
I am looking for an antibody that recognizes rat TGFb1. Since I could not find a recombinant rat TGFb1, I tried to verify this antibody in a western blot against recombinant human TGFb1. This antibody did not recognize the recombinant protein whereas a different antibody clone did. I notice that an earlier review did find a positive result for recombinant human TGFb1 so I believe that it might mean that there is a lot to lot variation for this antibody clone from Santa Cruz
