TGase4 Antibody (E-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects TGase4 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-TGase4 antibody (E-10) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TGase4, also known as TGM4, TGP, or hTGP, plays a crucial role in the formation of the cross-linked cell envelope (CE), a vital structure in terminally differentiating mammalian epidermal cells. The CE, which is a 10 to 20 nm thick protein deposit located on the intracellular surface of the plasma membrane, is essential for maintaining the integrity and barrier function of the epidermis. This structure is generated through the action of transglutaminases, which catalyze the formation of disulfide bonds and gamma-glutamyl-lysine isodipeptide bonds, thereby cross-linking glutamine and lysine residues in substrate proteins. TGase4 is specifically expressed in prostate tissue and is involved in various biological processes, including blood coagulation, epidermal differentiation, and apoptosis, highlighting its importance in both normal physiology and potential pathological conditions.
