    SEE ALSO...

Testisin Antibody (A-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects Testisin protein of mouse and rat origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Testisin antibody (A-11) is available as the non-conjugated form. Testisin, also known as ESP-1, is a testis-specific serine protease that plays a crucial role in spermatogenesis and fertilization, making Testisin essential for male fertility. Beyond reproductive functions, Testisin is implicated in various biological processes, including capillary morphogenesis and angiogenesis, highlighting potential regulatory roles in these systems. Testisin is primarily localized in the cytoplasm and on the plasma membrane of round and elongating spermatids, which is vital for sperm development. The testisin gene is located on the short arm of human chromosome 16 (16p13.3) and undergoes alternative pre-mRNA splicing to produce two distinct isoforms. While testisin gene is expressed in normal testis cells, testisin expression is absent in testis tumor cell lines, yet present in ovarian carcinoma, suggesting that expression changes may contribute to testicular and ovarian tumor development and progression.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-390317 P appropriate for?

    Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
