Tenomodulin Antibody (A-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 kappa light chain antibody that detects Tenomodulin of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Tenomodulin antibody (A-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Tenomodulin (TEM), also known as chondromodulin-I-like protein (CHM-1L), myodulin, or tendin, plays a crucial role as an angiogenesis inhibitor, which is vital for regulating blood vessel formation and maintaining tissue homeostasis. This single-pass type II membrane protein is part of the chondromodulin family and consists of 317 amino acids, featuring an N-terminal transmembrane domain and a putative antiangiogenic domain characterized by eight cysteine residues. Expression of Tenomodulin is notably found in skeletal muscle, the eye, whole rib, and dense connective tissues such as epimysium and tendon, highlighting its importance in tissue structure and function. Human Tenomodulin exhibits a remarkable 96% amino acid identity with mouse Tenomodulin, and shares 65% identity in a 65-amino acid C-terminal stretch with chondromodulin I, underscoring its evolutionary conservation and potential functional similarities across species.
