TCR Antibody (KJ1-26) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects TCR protein of mouse origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and flow cytometry (FCM). TCR (KJ1-26) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. T cell antigen receptor (TCR) plays a crucial role in immune response by recognizing foreign antigens and initiating intracellular signaling that activates T cells, transitioning them from a resting state to an active one. TCR is a heterodimer composed of either alpha and beta or gamma and delta chains, with approximately 95% of circulating T cells expressing alpha/beta heterodimer, while remaining 2-5% express gamma/delta variant. TCR functionality is enhanced by presence of CD3 chains and co-receptors CD4 or CD8, which are essential for effective signal transduction. TCR is predominantly expressed on T helper and T cytotoxic cells, distinguished by respective CD4 and CD8 expression. CD4, also known as T4 or Leu 3, is a membrane glycoprotein featuring four extracellular immunoglobulin-like domains, and CD4 plays a vital role in increasing avidity of interaction between TCR and class II major histocompatibility complex (MHC) molecules presented by antigen-presenting cells. This interaction is critical for activation of T helper cells, which are essential for orchestrating adaptive immune response.
