TCP-1 ζ Antibody (F-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects TCP-1 zeta protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TCP-1 ζ (F-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TCP-1, also known as t complex polypeptide 1, is a crucial component of the chaperonin containing TCP-1 (CCT) complex, which is essential for proper folding of cytosolic proteins, particularly actins and tubulins. Located in the eukaryotic cytosol, CCT complex consists of eight distinct subunits, each encoded by different genes, and includes two isoforms of the zeta subunit: TCP-1 ζ1 and TCP-1 ζ2. TCP-1′s ability to assist in folding these vital proteins is significant, as misfolded actins and tubulins can lead to various cellular dysfunctions and diseases. TCP-1 was initially identified in mice, where studies linked TCP-1 to tail-less and embryonic lethal phenotypes, and homologous sequences have been found in several other species, underscoring evolutionary importance. Studies of TCP-1 in yeast demonstrate function as a molecular chaperone for actin and tubulin, highlighting conserved roles across different organisms.
