TCP-1 γ Antibody (F-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects TCP-1 gamma in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TCP-1 γ (F-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TCP-1, also known as t complex polypeptide 1, is a crucial subunit of the chaperonin containing TCP-1 (CCT) complex, which is essential for the proper folding of cytosolic proteins, particularly actins and tubulins. Located in the eukaryotic cytosol, the CCT complex comprises eight distinct subunits, each encoded by different genes, and is vital for maintaining cellular function and integrity. TCP-1′s role in protein folding is particularly important, as misfolded proteins can lead to cellular dysfunction and various diseases. TCP-1 was initially identified in mice, where TCP-1 was linked to tail-less and embryonic lethal phenotypes, and homologous sequences have been found in several other species, underscoring evolutionary significance. The yeast version of TCP-1 functions as a molecular chaperone for actin and tubulin, highlighting TCP-1′s conserved role across different organisms.
