SEE ALSO...

TCP-1 ε Antibody (G-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects TCP-1 epsilon protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TCP-1 ε (G-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TCP-1, also known as t complex polypeptide 1, is a crucial component of the chaperonin containing TCP-1 (CCT) complex, which is essential for proper folding of cytosolic proteins, particularly actins and tubulins. Located in the eukaryotic cytosol, CCT complex is composed of eight distinct subunits, each encoded by different genes, and plays a vital role in cellular function by ensuring proteins achieve their correct three-dimensional structures. TCP-1′s importance in protein folding is underscored by involvement in various cellular processes, including cell division and motility, making TCP-1 a key player in maintaining cellular integrity and function. TCP-1 was initially identified in mice, where TCP-1 was linked to tail-less and embryonic lethal phenotypes, and homologous sequences have been found in several other species, highlighting evolutionary significance. TCP-1′s ability to assist in folding of actin and tubulin underscores TCP-1′s critical role in cytoskeletal dynamics, which are essential for numerous cellular activities.
