TCEA1 Antibody (G-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects TCEA1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TCEA1, also known as transcription elongation factor A protein 1 or TFIIS, plays a critical role in the transcription process by facilitating the elongation phase of RNA polymerase II, particularly when the enzyme encounters DNA arresting sites that can halt transcription. By binding to RNA polymerase II, TCEA1 cleaves the nascent RNA transcript, effectively releasing the polymerase from the stalled complex and allowing transcription to proceed efficiently. This function is vital for maintaining proper gene expression and cellular function, as disruptions in transcription elongation can lead to various cellular dysfunctions. TCEA1 is localized in the nucleus and features three independently-folding domains, all essential for interaction with RNA polymerase II. Notably, mutations or defects in the TCEA1 gene have been associated with salivary gland pleomorphic adenomas, the most prevalent type of benign epithelial tumors in the salivary glands, highlighting TCEA1′s importance in both normal cellular processes and disease states. Anti-TCEA1 antibody (G-5) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying transcription regulation and its implications in health and disease.
