TBR-1 Antibody (G-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects TBR-1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TBR-1 (G-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TBR-1, also known as T-brain-1, is a crucial transcription factor that plays a significant role in the development of the cerebral cortex during embryogenesis, where TBR-1 helps define distinct regions that contribute to the paleocortex, limbic cortex, and neocortex. TBR-1 expression is primarily restricted to postmitotic cells, highlighting TBR-1′s importance in neuronal differentiation and maturation. TBR-1 interacts with CASK/LIN-2, a membrane-associated guanylate kinase essential for epidermal growth factor receptor localization and signaling. This interaction is vital for forebrain development, as CASK can enter the nucleus and bind to specific DNA sequences in collaboration with TBR-1, thereby acting as a coactivator that induces the transcription of genes containing T-elements, including reelin. TBR-1′s ability to regulate gene expression in conjunction with CASK underscores TBR-1′s critical role in the intricate processes of brain development and function, making anti-TBR-1 antibody (G-5) an invaluable tool for researchers studying neurodevelopmental pathways and disorders.
