TBPIP Antibody (A-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects TBPIP of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TBPIP (A-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TBPIP, also known as TBP-1-interacting protein, PSMC3IP, or HOP2, is a 217 amino acid protein primarily localized in the nucleus and undergoes phosphorylation by protein kinases such as PKA, PKC, and MAPK. This post-translational modification regulates TBPIP′s activity and interactions, particularly in stimulating Dmc1-mediated strand exchange, which is essential for homologous chromosome pairing during meiosis and meiotic recombination. High TBPIP expression occurs in the colon and testis, with multiple alternatively spliced isoforms present. When overexpressed, TBPIP may contribute to leiomyoma development, benign tumors found in smooth muscle. TBPIP′s gene is located on human chromosome 17, a region encompassing over 2.5% of the human genome and encoding more than 1,200 genes, highlighting TBPIP′s potential significance in various biological processes and evolutionary conservation, as human TBPIP shares 88% sequence identity with its mouse counterpart.
