TBC1D20 Antibody (F-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects TBC1D20 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TBC1D20 (F-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TBC1D20 , also known as TBC1 domain family member 20, is a 403 amino acid multi-pass membrane protein that functions as a GTPase-activating protein for Rab family members, playing a crucial role in regulating intracellular vesicle trafficking. This regulation is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and facilitating processes such as endocytosis and exocytosis, which are essential for nutrient uptake and neurotransmitter release. Additionally, TBC1D20 has been implicated in mediating viral replication, particularly as a host protein for the hepatitis C virus nonstructural protein NS5A, with direct interactions occurring between the N-terminal amphipathic helix of HCV NS5A and the C-terminal domain of TBC1D20 . The gene encoding TBC1D20 is located on human chromosome 20, a region that is significant for its numerous genes associated with reproductive functions, potentially making TBC1D20 a target for male contraception research.
