Tastin Antibody (F-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Tastin in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Tastin, also known as trophinin associated protein (TROAP), plays a critical role in maintaining centrosome integrity and ensuring proper bipolar organization of the mitotic spindle during cell division. TROAP (F-12) antibody recognizes protein expression predominantly in the cytoplasm of cells within the bone marrow, testis, and thymus, where Tastin associates with microtubules, the mitotic spindle, and centrosomes. Notably, Tastin expression peaks during the G2/M phase of the cell cycle, highlighting TROAP′s importance in the regulation of cell proliferation; expression levels decline post-mitosis. Tastin′s structural integrity is vital, as overexpression can lead to the formation of monopolar spindles, while depletion results in multipolar spindles, both of which can disrupt normal cell division. Furthermore, Tastin interacts with key proteins such as Dynein light chain (Tctex-1) and γ Tubulin, reinforcing Tastin′s essential role in spindle assembly. Additionally, Tastin forms complexes with Bystin and Trophinin, which are crucial for cell adhesion and embryo implantation, underscoring Tastin′s significance in developmental processes.
