TAP2 Antibody (B-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects TAP2 protein of mouse origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TAP2 (B-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The transporter associated with antigen processing (TAP) plays a crucial role in immune response as TAP is integral to the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I antigen-presenting pathway. TAP is composed of two subunits, TAP1 and TAP2, which form stable dimers that create a translocation pore within endoplasmic reticulum (ER) membranes. This structure facilitates peptide movement from cytosol into ER lumen, where peptides are loaded onto MHC class I molecules for presentation to CD8+ T cells. TAP transporter is characterized by N-terminal transmembrane region that forms translocation pore and cytoplasmic peptide-binding pocket, along with several C-terminal nucleotide-binding domains essential for ATP binding and hydrolysis. These ATP-driven conformational changes are critical for effective peptide transport, underscoring TAP2′s importance in maintaining immune surveillance and response.
