TAP Antibody (G-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects TAP in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TAP, also known as tip-associating protein or NXF1, plays a crucial role in the nuclear export of unspliced viral RNAs, particularly those containing the constitutive transport element (CTE) found in type D retroviruses. Anti-TAP antibody (G-12) recognizes a protein essential for proper regulation of gene expression and viral replication, as TAP facilitates RNA transport from nucleus to cytoplasm, influencing overall efficiency of viral gene expression. TAP is part of a well-characterized mRNA export pathway and belongs to the multigene family of NXF proteins, which are evolutionarily conserved and characterized by a leucine-rich-repeat domain followed by a nuclear transport factor 2 (NTF2)-like domain. The structural features of TAP enable interaction with various RNA elements and other proteins involved in the export process, ensuring cellular machinery can effectively manage RNA transport and processing. TAP monoclonal antibody (G-12) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying RNA transport mechanisms and viral biology.
