SEE ALSO...

TANK Antibody (D-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects TANK protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TANK (D-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TANK protein plays a crucial role in the regulation of the NFκB signaling pathway, which is vital for immune response, inflammation, and cell survival. Located primarily in the cytoplasm, TANK acts as a scaffold protein that interacts with TRAF family members, particularly TRAF2, to facilitate NFκB activation in response to tumor necrosis factor (TNF) receptor stimulation. This interaction is essential for the transduction of signals that lead to the transcription of genes involved in immune and inflammatory responses. Notably, TANK contains a regulatory carboxy-terminal domain that keeps TANK inactive in unstimulated cells, and TANK′s association with TRAF2 alleviates this inhibition, allowing for the activation of downstream signaling pathways. Understanding TANK′s function and interactions with TRAF proteins is significant for elucidating the mechanisms of immune regulation and could provide insights into therapeutic targets for inflammatory diseases.
