TANK Antibody (A-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects TANK in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TANK, or TRAF family member-associated NFKB activator, plays a crucial role in the regulation of the NFκB signaling pathway, which is vital for immune response, inflammation, and cell survival. Located primarily in the cytoplasm, TANK interacts with TRAF proteins, particularly TRAF2, to modulate the activation of NFκB. This interaction is significant because NFκB is a transcription factor that, when activated, translocates to the nucleus to initiate the expression of genes involved in immune and inflammatory responses. The regulatory carboxy-terminal domain of TANK keeps TANK inactive in unstimulated cells, ensuring that NFκB activation is tightly controlled. Upon binding to TRAF2, this inhibitory effect is lifted, allowing TANK to facilitate the activation of NFκB, thereby influencing various cellular processes. TANK antibody (A-7) is an essential tool for researchers studying the intricacies of immune signaling and the role of NFκB in disease mechanisms.
