TALK-2 Antibody (F-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects TALK-2 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TALK-2 (F-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TALK-2 protein is a member of the two-pore domain potassium channel family, which plays a crucial role in regulating cellular excitability and maintaining the resting membrane potential. This family includes other important channels such as THIK-1, THIK-2, and TRESK, all characterized by their unique structure comprising four transmembrane domains. The specific structure of TALK-2, particularly its pore loop domain, is essential for potassium ion selectivity, which is vital for various physiological processes, including neurotransmission and muscle contraction. TALK-2 is predominantly expressed in the exocrine pancreas and the islets of Langerhans, with lower expression levels found in the liver, placenta, heart, and lung. Notably, TALK-2 is strongly activated by nitric oxide and dithiothreitol, highlighting its potential role in cellular signaling pathways.
