TAG-72 Antibody (B72.3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects TAG-72 across various species through western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM). Anti-TAG-72 antibody (B72.3) is available in non-conjugated form and conjugated to agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® dyes. Tumor-associated glycoprotein 72 (TAG-72) is a high molecular weight glycoprotein found in cytoplasm and cell membrane of malignant cells, playing a crucial role in tumor biology. TAG-72 shows high expression in 80% of colorectal carcinomas but rarely appears in normal epithelial tissues or benign conditions, making TAG-72 a valuable cancer biomarker. TAG-72 expression is significant in low-grade mucoepidermoid carcinomas but absent in pure squamous cell mucoepidermoid carcinomas. TAG-72 remains weakly expressed or undetectable in normal adult tissues, except secretory endometrium, emphasizing TAG-72′s malignancy specificity. TAG-72 appears in various gynecologic cancers, including epithelial ovarian and endometrial carcinomas, while TAG-72 expression in prostatic adenocarcinomas negatively correlates with Gleason grade differentiation. TAG-72 prevalence in gastric, esophageal, pancreatic, and non-small cell lung carcinomas highlights TAG-72′s potential as a therapeutic target. TAG-72 proves valuable for purifying primary ovarian cancer cells from patient ascites, advancing research and treatment development.
