    SEE ALSO...

TAF II p43 Antibody (B-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects TAF II p43 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-TAF II p43 antibody (B-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TAF II p43, also known as TAF8, TAFII43, or TBN, is a crucial 310 amino acid subunit of the TFIID complex, which is essential for transcription initiation. TAF II p43 contains a histone-fold domain vital for assembly of the preinitiation complex at the TATA promoter element. TAF II p43 mediates cellular response to various transcriptional activators and repressors, influencing gene expression. TAF II p43 localizes to either the nucleus or cytoplasm depending on cell developmental stage, playing a significant role in fibroblast differentiation and early embryonic survival. Ectopic expression of TAF II p43′s histone-fold domain can lead to dominant-negative mutations that hinder regulatory role in differentiation, potentially affecting developing cells. Alternative splicing events produce four distinct TAF II p43 isoforms, highlighting regulatory potential in cellular processes.
