T2R3 Antibody (E-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects T2R3 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). T2R3 (E-12) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. T2R3, also known as taste receptor type 2 member 3 or TAS2R3, is a 316 amino acid multi-pass membrane protein that plays a crucial role in the perception of bitter tastes. T2R3 is part of the G-protein coupled receptor T2R family and is primarily expressed in taste receptor cells located in the tongue and palate epithelium, as well as in specific regions of the gastrointestinal tract, including the stomach and duodenum. T2R3 functions as a gustducin-coupled receptor, mediating responses to bitter compounds through a signaling pathway involving phospholipase C β2 and the calcium-regulated cation channel TRPM5. This signaling is essential for detecting potentially harmful substances, as bitter taste perception is closely linked to the avoidance of toxic compounds. T2R3 gene is located on human chromosome 7q34 and consists of approximately 1,101 bases, highlighting its evolutionary significance in taste perception and dietary choices.

Which secondary antibody can I use if i am using the Sc-398489 FITC antibody for T2R3 as my primary? Also, is FITCA for ELISA ?

Asked by: Brayan
Thank you for your question. You do not need to use any secondary antibody for detection if you are using the directly conjugated primary antibody, sc-398489 FITC. This catalog number refers to this primary antibody directly conjugated to the fluorescent dye, fluoroscein (FITC). We do not have any protocol for using a FITC onjugated antibody for ELISA. Please contact us for further technical support.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-398489 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
