T-cadherin Antibody (E-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects T-cadherin protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). T-cadherin (E-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. T-cadherin, also known as truncated cadherin, heart-cadherin, or cadherin-13, plays a crucial role in cell adhesion and is essential for maintaining tissue integrity and morphogenesis. T-cadherin is primarily located in the plasma membrane of cells, where T-cadherin facilitates cell-cell interactions through a large extracellular domain containing five homologous repeats that contribute to binding specificity. T-cadherin′s intracellular domain interacts with various cytoplasmic proteins, including catenins, which are vital for linking cadherins to the actin cytoskeleton and regulating adhesive properties. Reduced expression levels of T-cadherin have been associated with breast cancer progression, indicating T-cadherin′s potential role as a tumor suppressor.
