Syntaxin 8 Antibody (A-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Syntaxin 8 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Syntaxin 8 antibody (A-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Syntaxin 8, also referred to as STX8 or CARB, is a 236 amino acid single-pass type IV membrane protein that plays a crucial role in the early secretory pathway, functioning as a vesicle trafficking protein that transports proteins from the cis-Golgi membrane to the endoplasmic reticulum. Syntaxin 8 is highly expressed in several tissues, including the liver, brain, kidney, lung, placenta, spleen, pancreas, and skeletal muscle, highlighting its importance in various physiological processes. Notably, Syntaxin 8 contains one t-SNARE coiled-coil homology domain and is involved in the formation of a SNARE complex with Syntaxin 7, v-SNARE Vti1p, and endobrevin, which is essential for the homotypic fusion of late endosomes. Proper functioning of Syntaxin 8 is vital for maintaining cellular communication and protein sorting, making Syntaxin 8 a significant target for research in cellular biology and related fields.
