Syndecan-1 Antibody (A-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Syndecan-1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Syndecan-1 antibody (A-6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Syndecan-1 (SYND1), also known as CD138, is a type I integral membrane proteoglycan that plays a crucial role in cell signaling and adhesion by interacting with components of the extracellular matrix, such as collagens, fibronectin, and thrombospondin. SYND1 is predominantly expressed on pre-B cells, immature B cells, and plasma cells in mice, as well as on the basolateral surfaces of epithelial cells, endothelial cells in sprouting capillaries, and embryonic condensing mesenchymal cells. Expression of SYND1 on these cell types is vital for maintaining tissue architecture and facilitating cellular communication, as SYND1 helps to link the cytoskeleton to the extracellular matrix, thereby influencing cell migration, proliferation, and differentiation. SYND1′s ability to co-localize with actin-rich filaments further underscores SYND1′s importance in cytoskeletal dynamics and cellular responses to environmental cues.
