Synapsin Ia/b Antibody (A-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects Synapsin Ia/b in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Synapsin Ia/b is a critical component of synaptic vesicle-associated phosphoproteins that play a vital role in regulating synaptic vesicle exocytosis and facilitating synaptogenesis. Synapsin Ia/b is primarily located in presynaptic terminals of neurons, where anti-Synapsin Ia/b antibody (A-1) helps detect maintenance of reserve pool synaptic vesicles and neurotransmitter release. Proper localization of Synapsin Ia/b is crucial for synaptic plasticity and overall neuronal communication, as Synapsin Ia/b helps tether synaptic vesicles to cytoskeleton and modulates availability for exocytosis in response to calcium signaling. Synapsin Ia/b undergoes alternative splicing, resulting in distinct isoforms that may have specialized functions in different neuronal contexts. Synapsin Ia/b monoclonal antibody (A-1) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying synaptic function and molecular mechanisms underlying neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative disorders.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-398849 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
