    SV2B Antibody (F-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SV2B in mouse and rat samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SV2B Antibody (F-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SV2B, a member of the synaptic vesicle protein family, plays a crucial role in synaptic transmission by regulating calcium ion levels in presynaptic nerve terminals, which is essential for neurotransmitter release. SV2B is predominantly localized to synaptic vesicles in the brain, particularly in a subset of synapses within the hippocampus and cortex, where SV2B contributes to the fine-tuning of synaptic activity. The functional redundancy between SV2A and SV2B underscores their importance in maintaining normal brain function, as both proteins are necessary for effective synaptic communication. The specific expression pattern of SV2B, in contrast to the more widespread SV2A, highlights SV2B′s specialized role in certain neuronal circuits, making SV2B a valuable target for studying synaptic mechanisms and potential neurological disorders.
