SEE ALSO...

SULT4A1 Antibody (B-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SULT4A1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SULT4A1 (B-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SULT4A1, also known as sulfotransferase family 4A, member 1, plays a crucial role in the sulfation process, which is vital for increasing the water solubility of numerous compounds, thereby facilitating their renal excretion and contributing to the formation of active metabolites. SULT4A1 is primarily localized in the cytoplasm and is highly expressed in the cerebral cortex and frontal lobe, with lower levels found in the cerebellum and other brain regions. SULT4A1 is involved in the elimination of xenobiotics, the activation of procarcinogens, and the regulation of hormones, making SULT4A1 significant in pharmacology and toxicology. Notably, the gene encoding SULT4A1 is located on human chromosome 22q13.2, a region associated with a predisposition to schizophrenia, highlighting SULT4A1′s potential relevance in neuropsychiatric disorders. Additionally, two isoforms of SULT4A1 arise from alternative splicing, which may contribute to SULT4A1′s functional diversity.
