SULT1 Antibody (B-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SULT1 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-SULT1 antibody (B-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SULT1 plays a crucial role in detoxification by catalyzing sulfate conjugation of xenobiotics, which is essential for eliminating harmful substances from the body. SULT1 is particularly important in metabolizing carcinogenic compounds, helping to mitigate procarcinogen effects and regulate hormone levels. SULT1 sulfotransferases exhibit specific activities towards various substrates, with SULT1A1 showing a significant role in N-sulfation of carcinogenic heterocyclic amines and phenolic compounds. SULT1A1 allele activity is notably higher in elderly individuals, suggesting SULT1 may provide protective effects against cellular and tissue damage associated with aging, thereby contributing to reduced colorectal cancer risk.
