SEE ALSO...

Sulfiredoxin Antibody (E-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Sulfiredoxin protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Sulfiredoxin antibody (E-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Sulfiredoxin, also known as Sulfiredoxin-1 or chromosome 20 open reading frame 139 (C20orf139), is a crucial cytoplasmic antioxidant that plays a significant role in cellular signaling by catalytically reducing oxidative modifications. Sulfiredoxin is essential for regulating peroxiredoxins (PRXs), a family of enzymes that mitigate oxidative stress by reducing hydroperoxides. Sulfiredoxin specifically targets conserved cysteine residues in PRDX1, PRDX2, PRDX3, and PRDX4, converting sulfinic acid back to sulfenic acid, which is vital for maintaining PRX functionality in various signaling pathways. Sulfiredoxin does not interact with PRDX5 or PRDX6, highlighting specificity. Sulfiredoxin is widely expressed in various tissues, with highest levels found in lung, spleen, kidney, and thymus, underscoring importance in antioxidant defense and cellular homeostasis.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-166747 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Cweed
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No detection in mouse macrophagesWe tried W Blots several times, but in mouse macrophages even with Ab dillution 1:100, we could not detect sulfiredoxin. Perhaps the Ab sample got frozen in the frige? Is it possible that the frozen sample does not work at all, or it just has lower affinity?
