Strumpellin Antibody (B-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Strumpellin protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Strumpellin (B-10) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Strumpellin, also known as SPG8 or KIAA0196, is a 1,159 amino acid protein that is ubiquitously expressed, with particularly high levels found in skeletal muscle and prostate cancer cells, indicating a potential role in tumorigenesis. Strumpellin protein is primarily located in the cytoplasm and participates in cellular processes such as endosomal trafficking and autophagy, which are crucial for maintaining cellular homeostasis and responding to stress. Disruptions in these processes can lead to various diseases, including cancer and neurodegenerative disorders. Mutations in Strumpellin are linked to autosomal dominant spastic paraplegia type 8 (SPG8), a condition characterized by progressive leg weakness, muscle spasms, and stiffness. Strumpellin gene is situated on human chromosome 8, a region associated with numerous genetic disorders and malignancies, highlighting Strumpellin′s importance in both health and disease.
