Streptavidin Antibody (S8C12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Streptavidin from Streptomyces avidinii through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). Streptavidin is a tetrameric protein known for exceptional biotin-binding ability, showing one of the strongest known biological and noncovalent interactions. Each Streptavidin monomer binds a single biotin molecule, creating a robust Streptavidin-Biotin bond valuable in biochemical applications, including immunochemistry purification and diagnostic kit development. This interaction enables attachment of diverse chemicals to surfaces and facilitates molecule linkage, such as radioisotopes and monoclonal antibodies, enhancing assay sensitivity and specificity. Streptavidin′s versatility makes anti-Streptavidin antibody (S8C12) essential for researchers using Streptavidin-Biotin systems in experimental designs.
