StIP1 Antibody (C-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects StIP1 protein of mouse origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). StIP1 (C-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. StIP1 plays a crucial role in regulating Stat3, a member of the signal transducer and activator of transcription (STAT) family, which is involved in numerous biological processes such as nephrogenesis, gliogenesis, hepatogenesis, T cell proliferation, inflammation, and oncogenesis. StIP1 contains 12 WD40 repeats that facilitate protein-protein interactions, particularly with members of the c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK) family. Such interaction suggests StIP1 may act as a scaffold protein, enhancing interaction between JNK and Stat3, thereby influencing Stat3 activation and subsequent nuclear translocation. Notably, overexpression of StIP1 has been shown to inhibit Stat3 activation and Stat3-dependent induction of reporter genes, indicating a potential role in modulating cytokine signaling pathways. Given StIP1′s ability to associate with various members of the STAT family, StIP1 may have a broader impact on cytokine signaling events, making StIP1 an important target for research in cellular signaling and disease mechanisms.

I am using the LiCor/Odyssey system. Which secondary antibody do you recommend using with StIP1 (C-5): sc-393475?

Asked by: cjMara
We recommend using one of our our exclusive Mouse IgG Binding Proteins conjugated to CFL 680 or CFL 790. They are suitable for use with Near-Infrared (NIR) detection systems, such as LI-COR/Odyssey and other comparable systems. A complete list of available binding proteins is available on our website here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/browse/support-products-mouse-igg-binding-proteins/_/N-ecrety
