StIP1 Antibody (C-5) is a high quality monoclonal StIP1 antibody (also designated StIP1 antibody) suitable for the detection of the StIP1 protein of mouse origin. StIP1 Antibody (C-5) is available as both the non-conjugated anti-StIP1 antibody form, as well as multiple conjugated forms of anti-StIP1 antibody, including agarose, HRP, PE, FITC and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. One member of the STAT family, Stat3, participates in a wide range of biological processes including nephrogenesis, gliogenesis, hepatogenesis, T cell proliferation, inflammation and oncogenesis. Many of these responses are triggered by the IL-6 family of cytokines, which transduce their vital signals through a common gp130 receptor chain. A novel Stat3-Interacting Protein, StIP1, contains 12 WD40 repeats, which mediate protein-protein interactions. StIP1 exhibits an affinity for members of the JNK family and may play a specific role in regulating Stat3 activation. Overexpression of StIP1 blocks Stat3 activation, nuclear translocation and Stat3-dependent induction of a reporter gene, suggesting that StIP1 regulates the ligand-dependent activation of Stat3, probably by serving as a scaffold protein that promotes the interaction between JNK and the Stat3 substrate. Because StIP1 can associate with several other members of the Stat family, it may serve a broad role in cytokine-signaling events.

I am using the LiCor/Odyssey system. Which secondary antibody do you recommend using with StIP1 (C-5): sc-393475?
Asked by: cjMara
We recommend using one of our our exclusive Mouse IgG Binding Proteins conjugated to CFL 680 or CFL 790. They are suitable for use with Near-Infrared (NIR) detection systems, such as LI-COR/Odyssey and other comparable systems. A complete list of available binding proteins is available on our website here:
