SEE ALSO...

Stim1 Antibody (A-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Stim1 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Stim1 antibody (A-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Stim1, also known as stromal interaction molecule 1, is a critical component in regulating calcium influx, which is vital for numerous cellular processes such as secretion, gene transcription, and muscle contraction. Located primarily in the endoplasmic reticulum, Stim1 acts as a calcium sensor through its EF-hand domain, enabling detection of drops in intracellular calcium levels. Upon sensing low calcium, Stim1 undergoes significant conformational changes and translocates to the plasma membrane, where Stim1 activates the calcium release-activated calcium (CRAC) channel subunit TMEM142A/Orai1, facilitating the influx of extracellular calcium. This mechanism is essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis and signaling, and dysregulation of Stim1 has been implicated in various pathologies, including tumor growth suppression and the modulation of stromal-hematopoietic cell interactions.
