SEE ALSO...

STAU1 Antibody (C-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects STAU1 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-STAU1 antibody (C-4) is available as a non-conjugated format. STAU1, also known as staufen, RNA binding protein, homolog 1, is a 577 amino acid protein characterized by three double-stranded RNA-binding domains, making STAU1 a crucial player in mRNA transport and localization regulation. STAU1 is primarily located in the rough endoplasmic reticulum (RER) and is expressed across various tissues, including heart, brain, liver, lung, pancreas, kidney, and placenta. STAU1 localization to RER facilitates mRNA transport from microtubule networks to translation sites, ensuring correct positioning for efficient protein synthesis. STAU1 interacts with both tubulin and double-stranded RNA, contributing to cross-linking cytoskeletal components with RNA, a process essential for maintaining proper mRNA positioning during translation. Alternative splicing of STAU1 results in two isoforms, referred to as short and long, which may have distinct functional roles in cellular processes.

Whether this antibody can be used in Drosophila?

Asked by: songcz
Thank you for your question. We currently do not have any data or citations using this antibody in drosophila. Please contact our Technical Service Department and we can help you perform sequence analysis using the antibody's antigen to predict potential cross-reactivity with drosophila (as long as STAU1 protein is published for that species).

Are there any issues with using sc-390820: STAU1 (C-4) mouse monoclonal primary antibody on mouse samples?

Asked by: Cweed
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent,we recommend using a directly conjugated primary antibody. Please contact our special orders department for pricing and availability of sc-390820 conjugates.
