Stat5b Antibody (C-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody engineered to recognize Stat5b, a pivotal member of the Signal Transducer and Activator of Transcription (STAT) family of transcription factors. anti-Stat5b antibody (C-8) is raised against a peptide located at the C-terminus of the mouse Stat5b protein, ensuring precise binding and high specificity. Stat5b, also called STAT5 and GHISID2, is predominantly localized in the cytoplasm of cells under resting conditions, where it remains inactive. Upon stimulation by cytokines or growth factors such as IL-2, IL-4, CSF-1, and various growth hormones, Stat5b undergoes phosphorylation, which triggers dimerization and subsequent translocation to the nucleus. This translocation allows Stat5b to initiate the transcription of target genes that regulate essential cellular processes including proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, T cell receptor (TCR) signaling, mammary gland development, and the sexual dimorphism of liver gene expression. The dynamic movement of Stat5b between the cytoplasm and nucleus is fundamental to its role in mediating cellular responses to external signals, influencing lymphoid development and differentiation, and involvement in pathological conditions such as acute promyelocytic leukemias (APLL) through fusion with the retinoic acid receptor alpha gene.
