StARD4 Antibody (F-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects StARD4 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-StARD4 antibody (F-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. StARD4 is a member of the steroidogenic acute regulatory protein-related lipid transfer (START) domain family, which consists of fifteen distinct proteins that share a characteristic START domain and are crucial for lipid metabolism and transport. Specifically, StARD4 is involved in the intracellular transport of sterols and the biosynthesis of cholesterol, playing a vital role in cellular lipid homeostasis. StARD4 expression is regulated by sterols, highlighting its importance in lipid signaling pathways. Additionally, StARD4, along with StARD5 and StARD6, forms a subfamily that exhibits approximately 30% amino acid identity among its members. While StARD6 is primarily expressed in the testis, StARD4 and StARD5 are widely distributed, with predominant expression in the kidney and liver.
